Are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. But it’s really true. The sky is enormous and a rich, deep blue. We’ve seen a series of sky-painting sunsets of red, golden orange and firey pinks and purples. This week the landscape has come to life with countless blooms and buds. Needless to say, we have fallen in love with Texas, as many others obviously have (I’ve never ever seen so much state pride displayed the way it is here.). People do drive like maniacs, but at least they seem to be paying attention. The weather has been perfect so far. Today there was a nice thunderstorm, although it only lasted about an hour. Liam ran down the driveway in the rain, as it was warm enough for short sleeves.
I love waking up in this place.

So far I’ve planted Shasta daisies, Rununculus in assorted colors, a thornless blackberry plant (soon to be bush) that is quickly outgrowing its pot, two tulips in pink and orange, and a purple and a pink hyacinth that smell heavenly. In the front yard planters I’ve put some red-orange marigolds, red snapdragon, and bluebonnet, which is the Texas state flower and will surely flourish in its conditions. We finally have a lot of natural light indoors so I will be adorning the inside of the house with plants as well.

A huge thanks to all of our wonderful friends and family who labored tirelessly to pack us up and get us here!
